The 10 Selected Productions

The 10 Selected Productions

Ten remarkable productions from the last season, selected by an independent jury of critics, provide a look at the status quo of German-language theatre.

The productions “Maria Stuart” (director: Anne Lenk), “Automatenbüfett” (director: Barbara Frey) and “Graf Öderland” (director: Stefan Bachmann) can be seen until 11 September on the respective programme pages of this website and in the ZDF/3sat-Mediathek.

Stückemarkt

Stückemarkt

Stückemarkt presents new voices from across the world, selected by an international jury of artists and featuring dramatic texts as well as performances. With the theme “Against Separation”, Stückemarkt searched for works that explore the concept of solidarity from a perspective of art and aesthetics.

With the exception of the closing event and the after-show talks, all discourse events of the Stückemarkt are still available for review. Simply navigate to the desired programme item and scroll down a little.

The short film portraits of the Stückemarkt authors and the podcasts are also still available. They are located on the programme page for the respective artistic work. Click on the respective event and scroll down a little.

International Forum

International Forum

The International Forum is a platform for global collaboration, the initial spark for collaboration, alliances and the search for an aesthetic movement. 35 young artists from all continents ask one question: What does it mean to make progressive art in the 21st century?

Stages Unboxed

Stages Unboxed

In cooperation with the Academy for Theatre and Digitality and the Digital Dramaturgy, Theatertreffen will present four productions that demonstrate which digital forms of theatre have been trend-setting over the past 18 months. The programme will be complemented by four episodes of the podcast “Perspectives Unboxed” which you can still listen to after the festival. Also still available is the talk “Theatricality and Body in the Digital Sphere”. To see the video, simply navigate to the relevant programme item and scroll down a little.

Focus Living Theatre

Focus Living Theatre

On the occasion of Berliner Festspiele’s 70th anniversary, there will be a new edition of the Theatertreffen-format “Focus”. It will be dedicated to the New York Living Theatre, a company that has been a pioneer of post-dramatic theatre and whose guest performances of “Frankenstein”, “The Maids” and “Mysteries” at the 1966 Berliner Festwochen have left lasting traces on Berliner Festspiele, too.

The reading of Julian Beck’s “Das Theater leben” and the two talks are still available for you to watch. Simply navigate to the desired programme item and scroll down a little.
