About This Talk
The longevity of a dramatic text is mainly measured by the number of productions it sees at other theatres after its world premiere. Another significant indicator is the production venue: Is the play performed on the main stage or at the studio theatre? We would like to look at this topic from the playwrights’ point of view: What kinds of texts does the theatre need and what kinds of theatre do the texts need? What do theatre authors write for today, which audiences, which times, which stage?
